  1. Five Years Plus

Thank you for posting this video– a fitting and tasteful way to remember how the last 5 years of a criminal war has most closely touched our lives in America.

Still, I wonder what is accomplished when so many of us know the truth about this war (and how it has cost innocent Iraqis as well) but are reticent to lay blame or demand justice.

So too does Mickey Z, a gifted writer who accurately points out at his blog today that

“Activists will be out in force today to mark the fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. However, while a drastic escalation and illegal occupation began five years ago today, the war actually commenced on August 6, 1990…four days after Iraq invaded Kuwait (with America’s tacit approval). On that date, at the behest of US leaders, the UN imposed murderous sanctions on Iraq.

The bombing started on January 16, 1991—and has never stopped—thanks to both Democrats and Republicans.”

When John Kerry remarked in 2004, “truth is on the line,” what was he talking about?

  2. The initial photo of the flag draped coffins…my son, Casey, is is one of them.
I hope the nightmare ends soon…for the US and for the innocent people of Iraq and Afghanistan.
    Love
    Cindy
