A two-alarm blaze that displaced five people in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Sunday morning caused more than $900,000 in damage and was most likely accidental, fire officials said.

Fire crews arrived at the three-story house at 1221 Revere Ave. around 5:11 a.m., San Francisco fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said. The fire was contained by 6:10 a.m. and controlled at 6:25 a.m.

The blaze caused about $600,000 in property damage, $300,000 in damage to contents and $5,000 in exterior damage to the property next door, 1215 Revere Ave., Talmadge said.

Four adults and one child were displaced, and reportedly accepted housing assistance from the American Red Cross.

Talmadge said she had no idea what actually sparked the fire or when the residents would be able to live in their house again.

“There was obviously a lot of damage,” she said.
