Bio
The middle son of a five-term state assemblyman (San Bernardino-D ’74-‘84), Patrick grew up with politics teeming in his blood. Encouraged by his public sculptor brother, Brian, he left Laguna Beach and migrated north to San Francisco in 1999—finally finding himself in a cosmopolitan, leftist city most suitable for his political and cultural tastes. In the 13th year of a wide-ranging solo, progressive legal practice with his office at the venerable Flood Building, he landed there in 2004 after co-founding WeCount.org, a federal political action committee advocating for coalition building between the left and center to avoid a split of the vote, re-defeat W. and give progressives a seat at the executive table. Presently he sits on three boards: Vote Hemp (national lobbying org. advocating for the re-legalization of industrial hemp farming in US), Bayview Opera House, and SF School of Biodanza. He and his Brazilian-Portuguese wife, Belisa, have a wonderful 6 year-old son, Felipe.
