Sandy Lopez is a Bay Area resident and current journalism student at San Francisco State University. In the summer of 2011 she interned at El Excelsior in Mexico City as a layout designer and this past spring she interned with the Mission Loc@l to work on articles that ranged from covering trials to business-related stories. Previously, she attended Citrus College where she found her passion for hard and investigative news. She plans to graduate in the spring of 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism. She hopes to find a career in investigative or international journalism where she can use her journalistic skills to investigate important stories in different parts of the world.
