Growers were previously required to haul their bounty to a third party commercial zone, like a farmers market, or sell through a distributor. The permit does not, however, allow for value-added products, such as pickles or jam, or animal products, such as honey and eggs, to be sold at garden sites in residential areas. These products can, however, be sold on production sites within commercial zones. Growers can apply for a permit through the Planning Department for approximately $350.

As many as 2,000 protesters took part in all of the activities. Thirteen people were arrested in actions at Wells Fargo and Bank of America.

Threaded throughout the Financial District, Occupy affinity groups engaged in various forms of non-violent activity such as chaining themselves with lock boxes to all the entrances to Wells Fargo's headquarters on California Street, staging a rally at the "bankers heart" sculpture at the foot of the Bank of America building, performing guerrilla theater as military personnel arresting "terrorists" (American citizens), and marching from Justin Herman Plaza throughout the financial district.

We encountered "Robin," a young man in his 20s, who is currently dwelling in a three-level tree platform which has been labeled "Ohlone Land." Robin shouted down to us that "we are not coming down until Jean Quan agrees to let people camp at the Plaza again." He explained that the platforms were built by Running Wolf and Black Foot, who wanted to have a presence in the Occupy Movement on behalf of Indigenous Peoples and their rights; to make a point that the City Hall complex is on stolen lands. I suggest that 4 themes be joined together, one for each side of the White House. One side for the living biosphere with Sierra Club on that side. The opposite side is anti-military weapons and wars. Protesting Global warming on one side and global warring on the opposite side. The third side is for social and economic equalities with many more in the middle than on top. The last side is for the remaining 7 billion humans, the total world population estimated to have reached and passed 7 billion on October 31. Instead of encircling the White House, ensquare the White House.

My estimate: at least 10,000 people marching, and it snowballed as we moved past Union Square and up Powell, through the cable car turnaround and back up Market toward the Civic Center.

Nonetheless, NRC officials rubber stamp license extensions, including 66 facilities over 25 years old re-licensed for another two decades, instead of responsibly shutting them down.

Homeowners complained of a rotten egg smell in their homes and condominiums. The cause of this foul smelling odor is now known to be caused by gases emitted from the defective Chinese drywall, which can cause significant damage to HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), smoke detectors, electrical wiring, metal plumbing components, and other household appliances. The gases permeate homes and can cause asthma-like symptoms, eye irritation, bloody or runny noses, headaches, sore throats, nausea, insomnia, and irritability.
