In that complaint, Hall alleges Scanlon falsified evidence and committed perjury when she testified before the San Francisco Ethics Commission against Hall during a June 9 public hearing to investigate alleged money laundering and campaign finance violations by Hall.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--> That filing resulted in Scanlon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fogcityjournal.com\/wordpress\/2008\/10\/28\/star-witness-for-prosecution-in-hall-ethics-case-pleads-the-fifth\/\">pleading<\/a> for Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, forcing the Ethics Commission to find Hall <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fogcityjournal.com\/wordpress\/2008\/12\/09\/hall-guilty-on-two-counts-of-campaign-finance-violations\/\">not guilty<\/a> on the most serious charge of money laundering, an offense that carried a maximum $240 thousand fine.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fogcityjournal.com\/images\/photos2008\/va_tony_hall_ethics_080609\/mw2w8045_std.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><br \/>\nSupervisor Sean Elsbernd aide, Olivia Scanlon.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I am seeking justice for a politically motivated investigation against me which had the desired effect of derailing my campaign for Mayor in 2007 and my campaign for Supervisor in 2008,&rdquo; Hall said.  &ldquo;Scanlon committed two serious felony offenses that D.A. Harris is obligated to investigate.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Responding, District Attorney spokesperson Connie Chan said earlier today: &ldquo;We cannot confirm or deny the existence of any investigation,&rdquo; a standard practice she said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hall, District Attorney Office Special Operations Division Chief David Pfeifer has been assigned to the case and began an investigation today.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I just got a call from Pfeifer this afternoon,&rdquo; Hall said.  &ldquo;It appears the investigation is now proceeding.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Hall said he also plans to file the complaint with the criminal and civil grand juries later today.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Should there be more foot dragging,&rdquo; Hall added, &ldquo;I will file the complaint with the Office of State Attorney General.&rdquo;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former District 7 Supervisor Tony Hall.
