Stone and Judy Iranyi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>January 28, 2010<\/p>\n<p>It is with great sadness that we heard the news about the passing of Howard Zinn. He died of a heart attack at the age of 87 while he was working on a speaking tour in Santa Monica California.<\/p>\n<p>This internationally known historian and author of <em>A People&#8217;s History of the United States<\/em>, was a civil rights and anti-war activist who was best known for his accurate writing of American history from the point of view of working and oppressed people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Ralph E.
