Assemblymember Tom Ammiano is breathing a sigh of relief today after learning the U.S. Supreme Court denied a legal challenge to a key provision<\/a> of “Healthy San Francisco<\/a>,” a municipal-based universal healthcare program the former supervisor championed from inception when he served on the Board of Supervisors.<\/p>\n

The high court’s action today ends a four-year legal challenge by the Golden Gate Restaurant Association, ably defended by the Office of City Attorney Dennis Herrera.<\/p>\n

“I am really excited,” Ammiano told FCJ. “It’s truly a green light for the program.\u00a0 It’s time for the Golden Gate Restaurant Association to stop wasting everyone’s time.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
