Author Steve Jones.<\/p><\/div>\n

SFBG City Editor Steven T. Jones, aka Scribe, has written a new book about everything you ever wanted to know about Burning Man, and more. Much more<\/em>. In his book, The Tribes of Burning Man: How an Experimental City in the Desert is Shaping the New American Counterculture<\/em><\/a>, Jones weaves a definitive account of his journalistic engagement with Burning Man, an “epic journey through Burning Man’s renaissance years of 2004 to present, meeting the culture’s most inspiring leaders and colorful characters and searching for meaning on the road from San Francisco to Black Rock City” and beyond.<\/p>\n

Tomorrow, February 17, a release party will be held to officially launch the book. The event includes a reading by Jones, speeches by significant figures in the Burning Man world, and a dance party featuring DJs from some of the collectives featured in the book, including Opulent Temple, Space Cowboys, Brass Tax, and Deep End!<\/p>\n
