By Ashley Wright<\/strong><\/p>\n April 21, 2008<\/p>\n A vehicle pursuit through San Francisco city streets this morning ended in a crash in Golden Gate Park that sent three suspects to a nearby hospital, police Sgt. Steve Mannina said.<\/p>\n Police were first called at about 3 a.m. to the area of Seventh Avenue and Hugo Street, Mannina said. A witness reported hearing glass breaking and seeing someone trying to break into a car. The witness described the vehicle as a gray Toyota pickup truck, Mannina said.<\/p>\n Arriving officers found that the suspects in the break-in had already left the area and broadcast the vehicle description, according to Mannina.<\/p>\n An off-duty officer leaving his shift at about 3:20 a.m. then saw the pickup at Fourth Avenue and Lincoln Way and notified on-duty officers, Mannina said.<\/p>\n By the time police arrived, the suspect vehicle had driven to Seventh Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Police attempts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful, and the vehicle attempted to turn onto Traverse Drive, Mannina said.<\/p>\n The pickup failed to make the turn and crashed into a tree.<\/p>\n The three occupants in the vehicle were transported to San Francisco General Hospital, Mannina said.
