They&rsquo;ve spent well over <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100204211633\/http:\/\/www.sfbg.com\/blogs\/politics\/2008\/04\/lennar_drops_another_million_o.html\">$2,230,000<\/a>, but their own polling shows them trailing a ragtag group of progressives and community folks who&rsquo;ve spent less than $10,000!<\/p>\n<p>Now Lennar is franticly trying to narrow the gap on Proposition F, airing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Az0cjA0FnWw\">commercials<\/a>, sending out glossy mailers, placing billboards, and running an <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Astroturfing\">Astroturf<\/a> field operation. They&rsquo;re so desperate; on Tuesday they were giving out t-shirts for votes! They even sent me their Facebook invitation, &ldquo;Hey Go down Early to City Hall and vote! You will be getting a free t-shirt if you go&hellip; Yes on G!! No on F!!!!!&rdquo; (By the way, in typical Lennar fashion, they closed up the messages section, due to quite the backlash from the progressive-leaning local Facebook community.)<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fogcityjournal.com\/images\/photos2008\/2008_misc_photos\/no_on_f.gif\" alt=\"http:\/\/www.fogcityjournal.com\/images\/photos2008\/2008_misc_photos\/no_on_f.gif\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--> While I&rsquo;ve previously posited that Lennar is trying to buy this election, I never thought they&rsquo;d stoop so low.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, the Bayview Committee for Affordable Housing will be hosting our first fundraiser, but we know that we need to do more with less. With the backing of <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20100204211934\/http:\/\/www.sfbg.com\/blogs\/politics\/2008\/05\/post_7.html\">major environmental organizations<\/a>, the Sierra Club, the League of Conservation Voters, Livable City, and SF Tomorrow, we&rsquo;re going to practice sustainability and environmentalism by recycling all those Lennar materials!<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"333\" src=\"http:\/\/www.fogcityjournal.com\/images\/photos2008\/no_on_g_080514\/dsc06109_std.jpg\" height=\"500\" \/><br \/>\n<strong>Photo by Andy Blue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>That&rsquo;s why on Friday I will be buying a drink for everyone who brings in their own Yes on F\/No on G campaign material&#8211; made from recycled Lennar propaganda.
