June 25, 2008<\/p>\n Candidate for San Francisco School Board Sandra Lee Fewer will kick off her campaign today at the historic Cathay House Restaurant, 718 California Street (at Grant), in San Francisco’s Chinatown. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with elected officials scheduled to speak at 6:40 p.m., followed by lion dancers at 7:10 p.m.<\/p>\n Fewer, a fourth generation Chinese-American whose three children attended San Francisco public schools, has worked on issues of public education for over 20 years. Currently, she is the Director of Education Policy and Parent Organizing at Coleman Advocates for Youth, a leading non-profit organization in San Francisco.<\/p>\n “It is an honor for me to begin my campaign in Chinatown—the place where I was born,” Fewer said. “My campaign will focus on advocating for policies that raise the standards of education for all of our children.
