Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin announced sweeping changes to several committees of the Board of Supervisors today during the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting.<\/p>\n

Supervisor Chris Daly, who was removed from the Budget and Finance Committee by Peskin last year during a contentious budget battle between Daly and Mayor Gavin Newsom over Newsom’s refusal to spend affordable housing supplemental appropriations, has been reinstated to the Budget and Finance Committee.<\/p>\n

Daly will join Supervisors Jake McGoldrick (Chair), Sean Elsbernd (Vice Chair), Ross Mirkarimi and Carmen Chu on the Budget and Finance Committee.<\/p>\n

Peskin also assigned Daly to the Land Use and Economic Development Committee, and the Rules Committee.<\/p>\n

“Pursuant to Charter Section 2.116, I hereby make the following changes to the committees of the Board of Supervisors,” Peskin wrote in a memorandum to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors. “Furthermore, pursuant to section 5.1 of the Board of Supervisors Rules of Order, I am appointing two temporary members to the Budget and Finance Committee to begin their service March 1, 2008 and serve until the adoption of annual appropriations and salary ordinances for FY 2008-09.”<\/p>\n
