I woke up early in the AM, wrote a column for all the beautiful, fabulous and all-around-superior readers of Fog City Journal, then jetted off to my night class.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, I made the mistake of leaving my thermos of freshly-brewed Peet&#8217;s coffee sitting next to my laptop, which led me to fall asleep in said night class. In the first row. Oops.<\/p>\n<p>I had no excuse for my narcolepsy. What was I supposed to say to my journo prof, &#8220;Sorry, I was up late last night drinking with some elected officials and celebrating a new dawn of the 21st century?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no way I&#8217;m going to be a journalist with a capital &#8216;J&#8217; at this rate. WWRMD = What would Rachel Maddow do?<\/p>\n<p>My life was not supposed to turn out this way. I was supposed to be a highly respected actor, performing Shakespeare in the park and spending my days convincing people I am not really a waitress.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/linda-bergthold\/palin-calls-bloggers-kids_b_142872.html\">write columns in pajamas<\/a> and spend my days convincing people I&#8217;m not really a hostess.<\/p>\n<p>My mother certainly never told me I&#8217;d have days like these. But she&#8217;s proud of her <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20150810204748\/http:\/\/www.tagalog-dictionary.com:80\/cgi-bin\/search.pl?s=bunso\"><em>bunso<\/em><\/a> and forwards my columns to her co-workers.
