Tracy Rosenberg claims that she helped save KPFA from bankruptcy. A close examination of that claim shows it doesn’t hold water. Virtually the entire reduction in staffing in 2010 was from union members who took voluntary layoffs. When the dust settled, and Pacifica was forced to rehire Brian Edwards-Tiekert, the only involuntary layoff that occurred in 2010 was that of the other Morning Show co-host who had been paid for a grand total of 27 hours a week.

Farming Activists Preempt Secret Albany Council Harvest
As many as 75 Occupy the Farm farmers and activists preempted Saturday an Albany Council invite-only harvest of crops planted by the group in April at the Gill Tract, a 5-acre plot of class 1 agricultural land owned by UC Berkeley and used for crop research, and delivered to the UC Berkeley Chancellor a barrow’s-full of bolted lettuce in a symbolic gesture.

Some Ambiguities in the City Charter
Does a vacancy on a policy or advisory body count as a “member” for purposes of defining a quorum and a majority vote? And does an absentee count as a “member” for purposes of defining a majority vote on substantive matters?
