   From SFFD time rolls.

   What about H-2 firefighter Harvey, a light-duty mechanic who worked (19), twenty-four hour shifts in a row (April 29 - May 17th, 2008)? 13 of the 19 watches were overtime watches. Each overtime watch cost the taxpayer $1,370.

   Last year, 2007, firefighter Harvey earned $183,000. In the first six months of this year, 2008, he has earned $106,000.

   Or firefighter Altenberg who works along side firefighter Harvey. Firefighter Altenberg earned $223,000 last year, $116,000 of it coming from “overtime.”

   This year, in the first six months, he has worked 908 hours of overtime. To taxpayers that translates to $54,480.

   In the Bureau of Personnel, the section which schedules firefighter workdays, vacation days etc, Firefighter Storey has earned over a million dollars over the last six years. About $400,000 of it coming from “overtime.”

   Or, working alongside firefighter Storey in the Bureau of Personnel, is H-10, Chief’s Aide, Dennis Carroll. During the same six years, he has earned about a million dollars with over $350,000 in “overtime.”
