San Francisco - Publisher Luke
Thomas launched FogCityJournal.com today, an online news organization
committed to delivering news and political coverage of San Francisco
and the greater Bay Area, with a focus on local issues that have
a broad impact, and broader issues that have a local impact.
Thomas, a photojournalist and former co-owner of the San Francisco
Sentinel, founded FogCityJournal.com after Thomas was ousted from
the Sentinel following a hostile takeover.
"It is with some regret that my partnership with Pat Murphy
and the Sentinel came to an abrupt end, but I am thrilled to have
this opportunity to be at the helm of Fog City Journal, to continue
servicing San Francisco and beyond with a unique blend of objective
journalism - supported by a platform of voices spanning the political
spectrum - for the benefit of Fog City readership."
A native of London, England, Thomas was naturalized a U.S. citizen
on September 11, 2001.
Thomas' background includes 20 years of computer consultation
in the United Kingdom, Canada and the U.S. Following a corporate
outsourcing trend in 2003, Thomas switched careers into the exciting
field of journalism and publishing, and seldom looks back.
