SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - San Francisco police are looking for a man who they say severely beat his ex-wife Sunday evening.

Darren Reetz, 46, was under a restraining order when he went to his ex-wife's house in the 1800 block of 29th Avenue and brutally assaulted her, according to police.

The victim suffered severe head injures, and police are treating the incident as an attempted murder.

Reetz is described as a white man, standing 5 feet 10 inches, weighing 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who knows of Reetz's whereabouts is asked to contact the police department's confidential tip line at (415) 575-4444 or 911. Police say the suspect may be in San Francisco or Marin County.
