Pedestrian struck by Muni bus in Richmond District

A 40-year-old female pedestrian was hospitalized this morning after being struck by a San Francisco Municipal Railway bus in the Richmond District, according to police.

The accident occurred at about 7:15 a.m. at 22nd Avenue and California Street, Sgt. Steve Mannina said.

The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, according to Mannina. The extent of her injuries was not immediately known, he said.

The accident is still being investigated, according to Mannina. Muni's spokeswoman did not return calls for comment.
