One dead, one injured after Sunset District shooting

A Pittsburg man is dead following a shooting and vehicle crash in San Francisco's Sunset district early this morning, according to authorities.

Simon Ruan, 32, died after shots were fired at a vehicle that subsequently crashed and rolled over in the 1300 block of 14th Avenue around 1:55 a.m., police said.

He was pronounced dead at 2:03 a.m.

A female passenger in the vehicle was injured and hospitalized in stable condition after the crash, police reported.

The cause of Ruan's death remains under investigation, a spokesman for the San Francisco medical examiner said.

The case is being investigated as a homicide, police said.
