SAN FRANCISCO CELEBRATES
CHINESE NATIONAL HOLIDAY

Celebrations honoring the National Holiday of China were capped this weekend by City Hall reception for Chinese Ambassador Peng Yuen and dignitaries.

Mayor Gavin Newsom honored that holiday, commemorating birth of the People's Republic of China, noting San Francisco led the nation in fostering ties between the two nations.



Shen Weilian, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in San Francisco,

Raising of the Chinese Flag over San Francisco City Hall by Peng and Newsom highlighted local festivities.
