State tax credits considered
for hybrid bicycle use

San Francisco Supervisor welcomes State Senator Tom Torkalson yesterday for a test run of hybrid bicycling which combines peddle power with up to 600 watts of electric power. Torkalson, whose daughter is using the bike for university campus commute, is a cycling enthusiast and is considering tax credit legislation to promote use. Selling for $800, the bike can reach 20 MPH and has a range of 20 miles. Ma led Torkalson and a group of bikers on a trial run.
