November local ballot takes shape this week

By Pat Murphy

August 10, 2006

The November San Francisco ballot takes clearer shape this week as deadline for filing ballot measures passed yesterday and the deadline for candidate filing closes tomorrow.

Six additional ballot proposals were submitted by 5:00 p.m. deadline Wednesday to the San Francisco Elections Department.

They include measures which raise the City parking lot tax by ten percent, hike relocation fee from $1,000 to $4,500 for landlords in some evictions, require formula chain stores to gain Planning Commission approval for moving into some neighborhoods, require employers to provide paid sick days for all San Francisco employees, and limit City release of personal information to a third party only cases required by state or federal law or by court order.

Candidates have until 5:00 p.m. Friday to file with the Elections Department.
