Nomination period under way in San Francisco general election

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN) - The San Francisco Department of Elections is now accepting nominations for the general election taking place for several local offices on Nov. 7.

The positions include four-year terms for the offices of assessor-recorder, public defender, supervisor (Districts 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10), member of the board of education, member of the San Francisco Community College District board, and Bay Area Rapid Transit District director for District 8.

In addition, voters will submit state and local ballot measures in this election.

The nomination period for all offices began Monday and will close at 5 p.m. on Aug. 11.

Eligible incumbents that have not filed by that time will be allowed five additional days to complete the nomination requirements, according to the Department of Elections.
