Morning shooting in the Castro

One person was transferred to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening after being shot in the city's Castro District this morning, police said.

The victim was shot in the stomach just before 5 a.m. at the intersection of Church and Market streets near Safeway, according to police.

Police said the suspect, a Hispanic male, fled on foot.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.
