San Francisco records first homicide of the year

Police are investigating San Francisco's first homicide of the year that occurred this morning in the city's South of Market neighborhood.

The fatal shooting was reported at about 4:50 a.m. in the 300 block of Ninth Street and claimed a male victim's life, police said.

No suspects have been taken into custody, according to officials.
